Leaving a relationship does not always mean that abuse ends. In fact, leaving can be one of the most dangerous times for a survivor of domestic violence.
Post-Separation abuse is abuse that occurs after the end of the relationship.
Post-separation abuse occurs when an abuser tries to maintain control and power over you after breaking up. this intimidation can be used as a means to scare you into returning to the relationship, to stop you from revealing abuse to family, friends, or the authorities, or as a punishment.
